Mrs. Lonne Rawlings Musielak

Lonne Lee Musielak, 78, wife of Theodore Steven Musielak, of Salem, SC passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 31, 2023. Before retiring in 2006, Mrs. Musielak worked 28 years as the school secretary at Tamassee-Salem High School. She cherished the school, the enduring friendships she made with co-workers, and the opportunity to nurture countless students. She loved animals, especially her Jack Russell, Pepper, and quickly swapped out pictures of her kids for a snap of her true favorite. She was quick to laugh and a prolific teller of funny stories. Her joke telling – mangled punchlines and all – were a source of joy and endearment. She never met a penny she couldn’t pinch. However, always generous to others, she never missed an opportunity to give her two cents. She had a natural gift for singing harmonies, which she first put to use as part of a high-school trio in Mexico, Missouri. Later, she joined her husband and friends on-stage as part of a local band, for which she designed and sewed some pretty groovy costumes. But most of her singing happened at church. She was a faithful member of the choir and enjoyed lifting her alto voice in praise to God. She will be missed by both her adoring family and the many people whose lives she touched. Lonne Musielak was the daughter of Emma Laura Johnston, Okey Gail Hinzman, and Maurice Torreyson (stepfather). In addition to her parents, Mrs. Musielak was preceded in death by her younger brother, Okey Hinzman Jr. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Steven; daughter Julie Dilley; sons: Chad Rawlings(Lori) and Kai Musielak; siblings: Mark Hinzman (Stephanie), Cheryl MacCallum (Paul), Matthew Hinzman, Luke Hinzman (Julia), Florida Gail Smith (Frank), Azalea Hinzman; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. A “Celebration of Life” Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 19th, at Scenic Heights Baptist Church in West Union. Following the service, the family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall until 4:00 PM In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Scenic Heights Baptist Church or Prisma Health Hospice of the Foothills, Cottingham Hospice House attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Dr, Seneca, SC 29672.
