Mrs. Mary Frances Taylor

Mary Frances Taylor, age 86, of Clemson, SC. passed away to her Lord Jesus at Cottingham Hospice House Seneca ,SC. Mary was born in Milton WVA and was the daughter of Carl Arthur Seager and Helen Marie Seager of Milton WVA. Always up for a spirited game of bridge or scrabble, she also enjoyed sharing with her numerous friends and family, colorful and occasional off color jokes and laughs at social gatherings. In her day, she carried a mean pool cue and was known as Mama Fatz. There was not a crossword puzzle that she could not solve. Nobody dared challenge Mary to a game of Scrabble because they knew defeat was the only outcome. Always making time with her husband for her three boys ferrying them to various sports and activities , she maintained a professional career working for NCR, Simmons International, and retired as Office Manager for Eastern Avionic, in Punta Gorda, Florida. Mary graduated with honors from Milton High School in 1955 and was accepted to Duke University’s School Of Nursing . Missing her high school sweetheart, she returned to Milton and married George Taylor in 1956 AND were married for 67 years until her passing. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Gregory A. Taylor in 1977. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by death by her brother Charles Seager, Hugh Seager, and sister, Janet, St. John. Those left surviving her beloved memory, are her husband, George A. Taylor of of Clemson, South Carolina. Brother, Carl (Butch) Seager, Milton, West Virginia, son, Rodney Taylor, Buena Vista, Virginia. son, John Taylor Covington, Virginia. Grandson, Gregory C. Taylor and his wife Erin Taylor, San Jose, California, Granddaughter , Beverly Taylor Quinn and her husband Ryan Quinn, Simpsonville, South Carolina. Granddaughter Courtney Taylor Pitts and her husband Jonathan Pitts Simpsonville, South Carolina. Grandson , Chas Taylor and his wife Rayven, Ft Myers, Fl. and six 6 great grandchildren that brought her extreme joy. She also leaves behind cherished memories of numerous nieces and nephews. Finally, she leaves many dear friends over the years for which the family is grateful. A Celebration of Life is planned at 11:45AM, September 13th at Everlan Of Clemson Retirement Center, 150 Pershing Ave Clemson, SC 29631. The Reverend Tommy Wilkes will be officiating.
