Thomas Glenn Rogers, 73, of Travelers Rest, SC, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2019 at Brookdale of Easley, in Easley, SC. Per his request, there will be no memorial service. His only wish was for his loved ones to carry on in peace and happiness and to do all things with love. Tom was born in Nichols, SC to William and Gladys Rogers on February 10, 1946. He attended Hoke County High School in Raeford, NC, where he was a linebacker for the high school football team. He was an All American and played in the Shriners Bowl, and his awards and trophies are still proudly displayed in the high school to this day. He attended Western North Carolina University on a football scholarship, until he was injured and was unable to continue playing. He completed his education at Asheville-Buncombe Technical College and received an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for a number of years at Platt Saco Lowell in Easley, SC, then spent the rest of his career working for the Research and Development Department of Michelin in Greenville, SC. He was paid as a consultant after he retired to train new employees in the division that he helped to create and define. Tom was an integral member of the Reiki community in Greenville, SC. His interest in natural healing grounded him and gave him a sense of purpose. He felt a kinship with nature and especially with animals and spent his life caring for them and connecting with them. He was gentle, kind, and loving, and he believed that we are all created in love and are worthy of love. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, William and Gladys Rogers, his brother, Charles Rogers, and his sister, Susie Holt. He is survived by his two daughters and two granddaughters, Lisa A. Rogers of Central, SC and her daughter, Summer, and Tiffany S. Carpenter of Newry, SC and her daughter, Bethany, as well as his sole surviving sister, Margaret Davies and her husband, David, of Raeford, NC. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Chris, Dana, Sloan, David, Candace, Amber, and Sean.
